Compiled with GTK+ 2.12.8, with GLib 2.14.6, with WinPcap (version unknown),
with libz 1.2.3, with libpcre 7.0, with SMI 0.4.5, with ADNS, with Lua 5.1,
with
GnuTLS 1.6.1, with Gcrypt 1.2.3, with MIT Kerberos, with PortAudio V19-devel,
with AirPcap.
Running on Windows XP Service Pack 2, build 2600, with WinPcap version 4.0.2
(packet.dll version 4.0.0.1040), based on libpcap version 0.9.5, without

During a running capture, after clicking on a packet in the packet list, the
"Auto Scroll Packet List in Live Capture" button will often pop out and auto
scroll will stop upon clicking other buttons in the tool bar. This does not
ever happen unless the user has clicked on a line in the packet list first.
Combinations that have been observed to cause this behavior:
1. Entering a display filter string in the display filter field, and then
clicking "Apply" will often, but not always, cause auto scroll to turn off.
2. Clicking the "Clear" button after applying a display filter will usually
cause auto scroll to turn off.
3. Clicking the "Edit Preferences" button will not turn auto scroll off, but
then clicking "OK," "Apply," "Save," or "Cancel" will turn auto scroll off.
4. Clicking the "Zoom Out," "Zoom In," or "Zoom 100%" buttons will stop auto
scroll.
5. Clicking "OK" or "Apply" after clicking "Edit Coloring Rules" will stop auto
scroll.
6. Clicking "Go back in packet history" will stop auto scroll, but clicking "Go
forward in packet history" does not seem to.
These exact combinations were verified on one computer (the one from which the
Build Information was pasted), but I have observed this general behavior on
three other Windows computers; two with Windows XP and Service Pack 2, and one
with Windows Vista Home Premium, all running Wireshark 0.99.8 with WinPcap
4.0.2.
Not every combination will work every time, but it happens often enough that I
can readily reproduce the problem. The one constant factor is that it will not
occur unless the user first clicks a line in the packet list.
