I ran into the same trouble with the NetScreen module. First I used per packet
encapsulation, but wasn't able to save data, even when there was only one
encapsulation type in the file. I now use the first seen encapsulation type
until a second type is seen and then change to per packet encapsulation. This
way, if there's only one encapsulation type in the file, you will be able to
export to pcap. Have a look at wiretap/netscreen.c or wiretap/nettl.c for
examples :-)
It would be nicer though if the "save" module will be enhanced to check first
whetherthe selection of packets to save is indeed of the same encapsulation
type. That way you can read a file with more than one encapsulation type.
Select all packets of type x and save that part as pcap.
