The log file format document the URL refers to says:
Packet body (unmodified, as transmitted over the media). If the compression
flag is set, the data is compressed using the publicly available Zlib 1.1.4
library. The length of this field is recorded in Data Length.
so it's presumably gzip (but, I infer, it's not that the file is *completely*
gzipped - it sounds as if each individual packet's data is independently
gzipped).
