It looks like you've got linefeeds (^M's) in your source code.  Did you get the
SVN code via a DOS/Windoze box?

You'll need to fix that.  Maybe your SVN client can be fixed or else you can
download the source tarball instead.

I can't quite tell if there are other (unrelated) problems besides that.  If
you still can't compile after removing the line feeds, please let us know, else
I'll close this bug soon.
