Resizing the packet-list (or changing the width of the Wireshark's main window)
does get the packet-list to redisplay BUT there are still some residual
effects.
In my case (on an Windows XP system), the selected packet doesn't have the
normal inverted background and text, instead it has a very thin blue border
around the selected packet. If I scroll down the packet list to expose newer
packets and then scroll back up to expose the older packets, the older packets
that are now re-exposed at the top of pane will all be displayed with an
inverted background and text, almost as if these are marked packets.
