Hmmm, this seems more like a question than a bug report to me. Questions are
better addressed on the mailing lists (where more users will see your question
than here).
I know that Ethereal 0.99.0 had problems that prevented it from running on
Windows 98. My understanding is that 0.10.14 did not have those problems.
Also, Wireshark should not cause your system to blue-screen; if your system
blue-screens while trying to capture, chances are that's related to WinPcap
(that Wireshark uses to capture). You might want to:
- Try the 0.99.2 Wireshark pre-release. If you still see the problem then:
- Try using 'windump' (from http://www.winpcap.org/). If you still see the
problem then ask the WinPcap developers.
Yes, you could skip the first step entirely and save yourself some effort and
time.
