I'm confused, the only way you can support frame sizes in Ethernet over
1518 bytes is to use jumbo frames in a fiber optic environment. If you
are using Jumbo frames, you probably have a driver issue. Please keep
in mind that you can define a TCP window size over 1500 bytes, and
what happens is that you get multiple 1500 byte packets before you get
an ack.
For example a window size of 6432 would give you the potential of just
five frames before you received a single ack for those five frames.
I hope this helps.

Hello,
We have developed a custom application over ethernet link where
we have only two nodes on the network transferring data between each
other. The application uses frame sizes upto 4096 bytes in one ethernet
frame. This is possible because the MAC engine allows us to communicate
with that frame size. We are using ethereal for capturing the frames
less than 1500 bytes in size,
but as soon as the frame size exceeds
1500
bytes, we cant receive frames any more.
Please suggest us how we can configure / modify ethereal for
receiving frames greater than 1500 bytes ?
Thanks & Regards,
