Hi,

In order to improve the security in running Ethereal several memory
protection features were introduced. These could not be verified on WinOT
(old technology) platforms and since have improved little. Also the
libraries, created by other parties, which are used by Ethereal no longer
provide WinOT support, so problems may arrise there as well.

Ethereal has continued its development as Wireshark which nears 0.99.1
release, improvement may be found there. www.wireshark.org

Thanx,
Jaap
