Not for me, if it means that the only ability to search is what the forum
site offers, and I can't do searches myself - or if it will only search
postings that were made after the switch from a mailing list to a forum.

Not for me, if I can't organize postings into the categories *I* want, so
that I could, for example, have a category for a particular issue, and
move postings that concern that issue into a category, so that I can see
all postings in that category.
