Ethereal doesn't support *any* interfaces; it only supports libpcap on 
UN*X and WinPcap on Windows - it leaves it up to libpcap/WinPcap to 
support interfaces.

The only devices they support, other than regular network interfaces, are:

	the DAG cards from Endace, supported in newer versions of libpcap on 
Linux and, I think, FreeBSD, and possibly in newer versions of WinPcap;

	the Septel and NetStructure SS7 cards from Intel, supported in newer 
versions of libpcap on Linux;

	the cards from Utel Systems, supported with a patch to WinPcap.

Nobody's contributed to the libpcap or WinPcap developers patches to 
libpcap or WinPcap to support the GL cards, so they aren't currently 
supported.
