Typing "148" when you meant to type "140".
Try "text2pcap -l 140" - 140 is DLT_MTP2, 148 is a DLT_ value reserved for private use (so no released version of Ethereal will *EVER* interpret it by default; it's intended to be used for private modified versions of Ethereal or other tools using libpcap file format).
