What do you mean by "in the event the remote system has power cycled"?

Please note, that Ethereal isn't the best tool for long term capturing, 
as it will consume increasing amount of memory and will crash if it's 
running out of it (see http://wiki.ethereal.com/KnownBugs/OutOfMemory).
