Depending on the type of catalyst switch you might need to put it in monitor mode on the older versions, which point all ports to send traffic to the monitor port.

I am running the capture in promiscuous mode on the dmz and I cannot see any traffic that comes from my cisco pix firewall.I do have a cisco catalyst switch connecting it to the rest of the dmz.  Can you tell mw what I need to do?
