Hi
I'm a newbie (so pleas excuse my ignorance) using Fedora Core 4, KDE.
I was unsuccessfully trying to install ethereal-0.10.11-2 via rpm and eventually gave up and installed it from source. BTW, i couldn't find the matching version of ethereal-gtk+ rpm for Fedora Core 4, could i just install the one from falsehope?
Finaly i managed to launch ethereal(installed from source) but it gives an error during the launch process:

/home/ed/.kde/share/config/gtkrc:37: error: unexpected identifier `gtk-alternative-button-order', expected keyword - e.g. `style'

It also doesn't work properly, when i try to choose the interface for sniffing, the program just closing up and gives me another error:

Err file capture_sync.c: line 661 (sync_pipe_input_cb): should not be reached
Aborted
If it let me start sniffing then it complitly closing up with the same error, when i press the stop button.
I tried different ./configue options and here is my ethereal --v :

Compiled with GTK+ 1.2.10, with GLib 1.2.10, with libpcap 0.9.2,with libz 1.2.3, with libpcre 5.0, with Net-SNMP 5.2.1, without ADNS.
Running with libpcap version 0.9.2 on Linux 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4.

What am i doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!
