I have a application
that is providing a COS 5 tag yet it is not connected via a trunk (and the
NIC dosen't support 802.1P). I ran ethereal capture on this PC and see DSCP
class selector 5 under IP layer for the source packets going out. How is
ethereal seeing a class selcter of 5 (layer 3) when I believe I'm tagging at
layer 2? Shouldn't I see this 802.1P header in my capture even though it is
probably stipped off by the switch (since I'm not turnking)? I'm trying to
verify the 802.1P tag going out and see class selector 5 so it looks
like something is working but where's my actual 802.1P tag
then?
