Hello Together,

my original e-mail gots to the ethereal-dev mailinglist.
Unfortunatly I got no answer till now.
Maybe I have more luck with ethereal-users.

Has anybody the same problem?

Subject: Problems starting ethereal through a ssh-tunnel

Hello Ethereal-Experts,

I installed Ethereal on a new server on Fedora Core 3. Everytime I try to
start ethereal remotly (with ssh) I got the following error:

The program 'ethereal' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 134 error_code 3 request_code 38 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error()
function.)

But other X-Programs (like gedit, xclock...) working fine through SSH. Any
idea what it could be? Maybe a bug in ethereal or GTK?

Thanks in advanced
Christian
