You are free to present details and usage of Ethereal in your thesis, as
long as you comply with the license.
You'll find some answers to this question on the Ethereal FAQ at
http://www.ethereal.com/faq.html, more precisely
http://www.ethereal.com/faq.html#q1.3 and
http://www.ethereal.com/faq.html#q1.4
If you envisage to insert code excerpts, you should contact the copyright
owners. They are listed at the top of every source file, and their address
can be found in the AUTHORS file shipped with the Ethereal source.
Having worked on WAP for about 5 years, I'm curious about the topic you'll
be discussing :)
Best regards,
Olivier
PS: please note that I changed to another ISP this week, hence my e-mail
address' domain "@tiscali.be" has to be replaced with "@versateladsl.be".
This has been changed in the Ethereal source repository, but not in the
released 0.10.4 source code.
