I would be interested in hearing how high sustained throughput you can
capture with
Mac OSX.
For linux built capture devices with a good pci bus, good NICs and a
good and striped disk subsystem you should be able to capture near
full line rate.
With windows as the platform you can, in my experience, never capture
very high bitrates before it starts dropping packets.
