I know that Ethereal 0.10.6 doesn't use the filename extension to interpret a capture-file; it examines the contents. However, I'm still interested to know which file-types go with which of the many filename extensions that Ethereal 0.10.6 registers. I have gleaned a few:

CAP   - Libpcap (common file extension)
ENC   -
