Would installing the Microsoft Loopback Adapter help?

I did find this information about installing the Microsoft Loopback
Adapter in Windows XP.  I installed it, but I do not know how to get it
to work with ethereal and Oracle.

Unfortunately it is not possible to capture loopback packets with
WinPcap. This is a limitation in Windows, not in WinPcap or Ethereal.
