I downloaded and installed WinPcap_2_3 followed by ethereal-setup-0.9.16 on my Win 98 machine. If I clicked on File/Open I got Windows illegal operation and it closed Ethereal, if I clicked on Capture/Start it rebooted my system. I then uninstalled both and installed WinPcap_3_0 and Ethereal-setup-0.10.5a. Same problem. One thing I think may not be as it should be is the ProgramFiles/WinPcap folder which has only two files-"Install.log" and "Uninstall.exe" Please help me with my problem.
