That should be "Save window size", not "Save window position".

Also, you don't have to do any of that stuff if it's already checked.

...that should be "click 'Save' and 'OK'" if the intent is to make the
setting persist.

Note also that, having set the preferences *if* necessary, you should
exit Ethereal *WITHOUT* closing the DOS window.  I think the DOS window
will then have a prompt saying you should type Return or Enter; if so,
do so, and the DOS window should close by itself.  (If you close the DOS
window, I think Ethereal might be forced to exit without saving the
window size, in which case the default window size, which has a negative
height, will continue to be used, and the error will continue to be
displayed.)

(I'm also not sure why people have to check it, as the default in
Ethereal is checked.  Perhaps the default wasn't checked in earlier
releases, so that if people saved their preferences in earlier releases,
that setting was saved.)
