If you just want to capture data you can use Tethereal (the text-mode
version of Ethereal).  If you wan to run Ethereal remotely and have its
interface displayed locally you need to run and X Window server on your
local machine (such as Hummingbird's Exceed or Cygwin+XFree86) or you
can use VNC.
