In your FAQ’s you comment, “When I use Ethereal to capture packets, I see only packets to and from my machine, or I'm not seeing all the traffic I'm expecting to see from or to the machine I'm trying to monitor. You mention, “this might be because the interface on which you're capturing is plugged into a switch or on a switched network…”

IN fact, I’m using the Linksys WR-T54G router and a NetGear 8 “Fast Ethernet Switch <FS108>.” I’m trying to sample packets being sent to and from an IP camera. The configuration I’m using is the NetGeat switch is connected between the router and the camera. My laptop, loaded with Ethereal, is also connected into the switch.

Can you recommend a switch / hub that would work correctly? Specifically, what am I looking for?

I’m not quite sure how I view the list, so I’d appreciate if anyone who can suggest the proper switch can e-mail me at kozlarekr@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks
