Unfortunately, KWord didn't seem to be able to display it, so I can't
see what the error is.

Could you send us the text of the error?

If it crashes when reading an existing capture, WinPcap isn't involved.

It's probably the result of a bug in a dissector; if you could send us a
capture that causes the crash, we can try to find out where the bug is.
