I was getting the same error below until I re-installed X11 from the Mac OS
X Panther CD #3.
 
Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0


Now, when I launch Ethereal, and try to select the interface (Airport Card,
eth1) I get the following error:

The capture session could not be initiated ((no devices found) /dev/bpf0:
Permission denied). Please check to make sure you have sufficient
permissions, and that you have the proper interface or pipe selected.

There are no interfaces to choose from when I press Ctrl+K.
