The install folder (C:\Program Files\Ethereal for me) does not obey
the system's current folder view settings. I have Details View set,
yet the install folder insists on adding the annoying Windows header
crap in the file pane. I've attached screenshots. Worse, I can't
recall how I got this crap turned off in the first place. I suspect it
may have been a side-effect of choosing Classic Windows theme over
Windows Eye Candy theme. Also, it only happens in the top folder, the
subfolders are fine. Is it possible this is a result of 0.10.1
including a shortcut to the folder in the Start Menu? Any
tips/workarounds/fixes are appreciated.
I'm attempting to implement the workaround for the default.tt issue
recently reported; clear the type table file entry in
Edit -> Preferences -> Protocols -> ASN1
I can clear the entry fine, but hitting OK causes a dialog to popup
informing me I have not selected a font. Hitting OK on that, and
reloading Ethereal shows that the tably type has not been cleared. Are
the preferences stored anywhere on disk where I could just edit the
file?
