I suspect the 10/100 wired network is based around
an ethernet switch which means you will only see traffic directed to your
address (on the unit running ethereal) or broadcast traffic and therefore may
not see routed traffic between the plays. To watch all the traffic going
to the cable modem, plug a 10 mbps HUB between the cable modem and the 10/100
wired network and then plug the ethereal unit into the HUB. This will let
you see every packet that goes to or from the cable modem,
