Does anybody know what protocol Xbox uses?

A Google for

	xbox protocol

found

	http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/xboxlive.html

which says:

The Xbox Live service uses two standard ports that should be configured by default on your ISA server.

o Kerberos-Sec (UDP); Port 88; UDP; Send Receive

o DNS Query (UDP); Port 53; Send

The service also requires two custom protocol definitions. I have named these Xbox1 and Xbox2 (I used my imagination!!).

and indicates that the other two protocols use UDP and TCP ports 3074, respectively.

Perhaps there are other protocols. I don't have an XBox, so I don't know.

I can't see any of the traffic from my son's xbox on the network>

Meaning you see no traffic from the XBox's MAC address, or you see no traffic that you interpret as being XBox traffic?

Note that if his XBox and the machine running Ethereal are plugged into a device that acts as a switch (such as, for example, many "Internet gateway"/"broadband router" devices), you won't necessarily see traffic, on the Ethereal machine, from any of the other machines:
