for playing around with Ethereal, I'm looking for interesting sample
captures. On http://www.ethereal.com/sample/ I found samples for
some typical IP protocols as well as one for ATM and one for VoIP.
I'm more interested in "telco" stuff, like GRPS, ISDN, and UMTS.
Ethereal supports some of the protocols, but could not find any
sample captures. Please send me some captures for those protocols,
TIA!
If the captures can be made public, perhaps they should be added to the
collection of Ethereal samples as well.
BTW, Gerald, is there any way to find messages in the Ethereal mailing
list archives that have attachments - or just to find all the
attachments - and, if so, how hard would it be to find those
attachments that are capture files? (Recent versions of the "file"
command from
ftp://ftp.astron.com/pub/file/
should be able to recognize many of the capture file types Ethereal can
read, although it won't necessarily recognize all of them - I should
perhaps update that and send a patch to Christos Zoulas. It also won't
recognize gzipped capture files, capture files inside tarballs, or
capture files inside zipballs.)
