Hello Guy,

Yes, I was expecting to catch all traffic to/from my machine, however Ethereal did not show anything, even Ethernet packets. Not a single packet. If I switch to the 10/100 on-board card, see lots of packets.

Then you will, at best, only be able to see packets sent by or to your machine (or broadcast/multicast packets received by it), and will see them as Ethernet packets, and won't see any management or control packets; Windows and Windows drivers don't support capturing in "monitor mode".

That applies to 802.11 in general; it's not an 802.11 vs. 802.11b vs. 802.11a vs. 802.11g issue.
