I have crafted several filters for specific uses. How do I save them so that I can offer them to others?

If you haven't already saved them with the "Save" button in the dialog boxes for the "Capture Filters..." and "Display Filters..." items under the "Edit" menu, or the "Save" button in the "Capture Filter" and "Display Filter" dialog boxes popped up by the "Filter:" buttons, you can:

	select "Capture Filters..." from the "Edit" menu;

type in a name for the filter in the "Filter name:" box, and the filter string in the "Filter string:" box;

	click "New";

keep doing that until you've already entered all of your capture filters;

	click "Save", and then click "OK";

	do the same for display filters.

This will save, in files named "cfilters" and "dfilters" in:

	the ".ethereal" directory in your home directory on UNIX;

the "Application Data\Ethereal" directory in your "profile directory" on Windows;

the capture and display filters, respectively.
