You *do* have X11 installed, right?  Ethereal doesn't use a toolkit that
directly uses Quartz or Aqua, it uses a toolkit for which there's a
"native" Mac OS X version under development, but that "native" version
isn't ready yet, so Ethereal currently requires X11.
