My question still stands.
Why would anyone want to read a capture into Sniffer for post-capture
analysis?

Its not like it can do any particularly useful analysis of CIFS or NFS
anyway.


If the tech support engineer is not using ethereal already there is no point
in sending the capture to him/her.


My opinion is that ethereal should drop the support to write files in any
other format than pcap.
If other tools have problem with that it is their problem not ethereals.
