My math was all screwed up and apparently I can't count the number of octets in a mac address. Why I said 8, I don't know. 6 it is. Source/Dest = 12 + type (2bytes) = 14.

So why would the length of the layer 2 frame not be expressed, but the length of the layer 3+ datagrams would be expressed?
