I am having trouble getting display filters to work, and when I went
to the site showing how to use them, I saw that I was missing the
apply button.
There are two ways of getting a dialog box showing a list of display
filters:
1) the Edit > Display Filters menu item;
2) the "Filter:" button at the bottom of the screen;
3) the "Filter:" button in the "Find Frame" dialog box.
Edit > Display Filters is for use when you want to edit your list of
saved display filters. it is *N*O*T* for use when you want to filter
the display, and, therefore, has no "Apply" button.
The "Filter:" button at the bottom of the screen is for use when you
want to filter the display using a display filter from your list of
saved display filters or want to use the "Add Expression" button to
help construct a new display filter, so it *does* have an "Apply"
button.
The "Filter:" button in the "Find Frame" dialog box is for use when you
want to find a frame that matches a display filter using a display
filter from your list of saved display filters or want to use the "Add
Expression" button to help construct a new filter; it doesn't have an
"Apply" button because it doesn't apply the filter to the display, it
just has an "OK" button that copies the filter to the filter field in
the "Find Frame" dialog box.
