Yes, it's worked fairly well for me with a Syskonnect SK-9844 and Netgear GA-621 both in Win2k SP3 & winpcap 3.0a and Linux 2.4.20 with both stock and "upgraded" libpcap.

I'm assuming you're wanting to know if there is something general about gigabit ethernet that would prevent promiscuous mode on <some platform>. I'm not aware of any general limitations of libpcap on any platform that prevent promiscuous capture on, generally, gigabit NICs.
