from the COPYRIGHT file, and that removal is accepted by the copyright owners of ssldump, then it could be modified.

The problem is that a BSD-license-style advertising clause is incompatible with the GPL, according to the FSF:

	http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/bsd.html

(I.e., "open source" isn't good enough here, at least according to the creators of the license that Ethereal uses.)

However, I don't know whether that clause could be removed; Eric Rescorla would have to remove it.
