I have downloaded and built ethereal 0.9.13 but whenever I try to run it I
get this error

bash-2.04# ./ethereal
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified


Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0

I am running Slackware linux kernel 2.4.21 with XFree86 version 4.2.0

What is causing this problem?
