The article doesn't mention 802.1x; if you aren't using WEP, Ethereal (or any other wireless sniffer) could do all of what the article says. (If you *are* using WEP, it's more work, because you first have to crack the encryption - but AirSnort:

The article uses the word "open" many times; many networks probably *are* that easy to sniff (which I think is much of the point of the article).
