Title: Ethereal 0.9.13, WinPCap 3.0 alpha, and Win2KSP3 = 100% CPU
I just downloaded WinPCap 3.0 alpha and the Ethereal 0.9.13 binary for my Win2K Pro SP3 PC to try it out, and every time I double-click the Ethereal icon, my CPU utilization shoots up to 100%. No windows are displayed, they only way I know that the application is running is that is shows up in the Task Manager.
I've deinstalled everything, installed WinPCap then rebooted, then installed Ethereal...none of it helps.
My PC is a Dell GX260 with a 3Com 3C920 integrated NIC. I saw another thread related to this problem, but there wasn't
a resolution.
I did so some research on Google and such to see if this was a known issue, but I didn't find anything. Doesn't mean it's not out there, so all I am asking for is a gentle nudge in a better place to look.
And no, I have not tried this install on other PC's, so it may just be my PC, but I figured someone may want to know about this.
Thanks for any help that may come.
