Hi Guys, I wonder whether Ethereal can capture packets on virtual 

interface. Sometimes, we have to specify several IP addresses to 

one physical interface in the following way:



eth1:1 IP1

eth1:2 IP2

....

However, when I tried to capture the packets on one of the virtual interface by using the command like "tethereal -i eth1:1

....", I can't capture any packets. 



I am sure there are data flowing through the virtual packets because the applications exchange data through the virtual interface normally. So my problem is whether ethereal can capture 

packets on virtual interface. If so, how to?
