I am using Windows 2000. My system is part of a LAN.
I can see packets on LAN (for example between my
computer and another), but I cannot see packets
exchanged within my computer.

Are you using the loop back interface on IP 127.0.0.1? And what system are
you using? Windows or Solaris? If it is the case then Ethereal will not
capture traffic on the loop back interface. This is an OS limitation.

Subject: [Ethereal-users] Capture packets within one computer?
Hi,
I am new Ethereal user. I would like to know
if is it possible to capture TCP packets within
one computer (from one application to other)?
I wasn't able to achieve this so far.
Thanks!
Best regards,
Hrvoje Nezic
