Answering my own email here. I just FTPed 500MB again. But this time from
the same PC booted up using KNOPPIX. My data transfer rate range from 50-60
to 60-88Mbit/s. The KNOPPIX PC has ethereal 0.9.5 installed but not
tethereal. Ethereal captured all 280,000 frames without dropping one.
