Checkout http://www.sniff-em.com I use this program in WinXP with PPP (SLIP)
Regards
Rune Christensen
I have the latest version of Ethereal and Wincap installed on a WinXP PC to
diagnose a ppp dial-up problem (dial-up only, problem doesn't occur when LAN
connected). The list of adapters that Ethereal finds does shows a PPP
adapter for POTS dial-in. When I dial-in and start capturing, applications
on the PC don't work. For instance, if I try and ping the LAN or vice-versa,
the pings fail but the capture log shows the attempt. It is as if ethereal
is blocking the packets. Forgive me, as I haven't used ethereal before. I
did see something in the FAQ that suggested that this might not work on XP
but I just want to clarify.
Many thanks,
