Packetyzer 0.6.0 has been released. It can be downloaded from:
www.packetyzer.com
Packetyzer is a Windows front-end for Ethereal based on the packet
dissection in Ethereal.
Improvements in this release include:
* Running multiple instances of Packetyzer will no longer cause errors
about being unable to bind a socket.
* Made Ethereal DLL reenterant. This means that captures can be made
in multiple windows simultaneously and filters can be applied while
running a capture.
* Improved speed of redraw for trace display in TCP flow window.
* Included plugins in the install.
* Included diameter support files in the intall.
* Reworked filtering semantics. Now capture filters and display filters are
clearly separated.
* Added progress bar for filtering and saving of captures. Still need
progress bar for loading a file, and a means to cancel a long operation.
* The startup time has been reduced from about 12 seconds to 3 seconds by
initializing the filter expression window more intelligently.
* Fixed drawing of protocol options dialog so that text boxes do not
overlap
the scroll bar.
* Fixed handling of enumerated protocol options. They will now save and
restore correctly.
* Added plugins window to show list of currently registered dissector
plugins.
* Signal strength in the WLAN window will fade out over 15 seconds when a
device is no longer being received. This should reduce flickering in the
display.
