The stop button is in another window. Have a look at your task bar and you
should see two Ethereal applications.  The right hand one should have a
protocol summary of the current capture and a "Stop" button. (See attached
JPG)

The Tk GUI takes a bit of getting used to as it has numerous subtle
differences to the standard Win32 GUI. One is that new windows can sometimes
appear behind the currently active one. Another fun bug with the TK gui is
that menu's remain on top when you Alt-Tab away from Ethereal.
