Hello

In the start capture window, I only fill out filters to sort out the packets
that come from or goto a certain host (E.e. host 198.162.10.2 ||
198.162.20.3 || ...)
When I want to see only the H225 traffic, I fill out the filterbox in the
general Ethereal window (at the bottom, to the left. There is a "reset" and
"apply" button next to it); just put h225 there, and you will only see these
packets.

So, don't use the filter box in the "Capture --> start" window, use the
regular filter box in the main ethereal window.

Kind regards,

Vaya Willemen.

Subject: [Ethereal-users] Capture Filters for Ethereal on Windows

Hello,

I'm new to the list and I don't know if this question
has been posted & answered before. If it has been
answered, could you please guide me to the proper
resource?

I am using Ethereal on Windows to capture H.323
traffic. I am having problems with the syntax of
filtering commands. For example, if I want to monitor
all messages of the H.225 protocol, should I use:

proto h225

in the start capture window in the filter box?

If yes, then it is not working, I'm getting a parse
error...

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Vlasis Hatzistavrou
