I am having a little trouble with ethereal on a RedHat
7.3 platform. To get other software to operate, I had
to change which version of libpcap I am using. The
default 7.3 Install with ethereal installs
libpcacp-0.6.2-12. I had to uninstall this rpm to
update to the libpcap-0.7.1-1 and
libpcacp-devel-0.7.1-1 rpms. No big deal and it got
my other software to work. Now ethereal will not
work. I tried uninstalling the default rpm which is
ethereal-0.9.3 and upgrading to ethereal-0.9.5-1.
This requires libpcacp.so.0.6.2. Anyone have similar
problems and get it to work? I am open to
suggestions. Thanks in advance.
