Well,
yeah...I am using AP's...
There
is no problem actually performing the sniff...it captures everyones' packets
that is using the same AP and the same encryption
key.
The
problem occurs after the sniff...its like the driver gets hosed up for my
wireless card...it then becomes useless (can't ping anybody, for instance) until
I reboot or reset my card.

Dear
Jamie,
Were you associated
with any APs or Adhoc stations during the time of the
sniff?
Otherwise, your
promiscuous mode is only promiscuous from the network layer and is no use for
raw 802.11 packets. This is not a problem with ethereal but your windows
drivers.

wireless sniffing on Windows
Has anyone experienced problems
with sniffing in promiscuous mode over a wireless lan using Windows
NT/2000/XP, LibPCAP and Ethereal? I'm using the latest of everything...I
can sniff the card once...looks fine...but then the card gets all
out of whack and I need to reboot to get my stack back in working order.
This doesn't seem to be local to my machine...others have experienced it
too...
Anyone know of a
workaround?
Jamie
